Under Review: Using Tinder While Trans

Art

“Under Review” reveals the dating life of a transgender woman in 2019. In this autobiographical journey in online dating culture, artist Eridian Falcone captures screenshots of text conversations with cisgender men and superimposes them on top of her sensualized form. These conversations are often one sided, fetishizations of the trans form, turning the artist into a curiosity. The title was inspired by the countless times Falcone was banned from Tinder, a popular online dating app, simply for being transgender.

You can follow Eridian’s work on her website and social media at @efalconephoto. Her photography was also featured in Boshemia Magazine: Power, available here.
