We live in a fantasy world, a world of illusion. The great task in life is to find reality.

But given the state of the world, is it wise?

For our next issue, the Boshemia team are delving into the world of FANTASY

The wonders of fantasy aren't limited to the old timey worlds of dragons and castles – or the shiny new utopias featuring robots and megalon. A fantasy can be as simple as dreaming about what you'll have for lunch or planning the perfect evening for your dream date (and then the perfect night). Fantasy exists to comment on the current state of affairs, and oh boy do we have a lot to comment on.

Let’s get fantastical, gang. We want stories about krakens, musings on ghosts, thoughts on tech and technofeudalism.

We also want editorials on the future of fashion, fantastical art pieces, listicles about your favourite robots, a deep dive into discovering your sexual identity.

Whatever screams FANTASY to you, we want it.

FORMAT

We welcome all visual and written work. There is no minimum word limit, but the maximum is around 2000 words. If you have work which is slightly longer, please submit regardless and we can assist with editing the length if you are shortlisted.

  • Please provide your work in .doc or Google Doc format for written submissions. PDF submissions will not be considered as they make the editing process difficult.

  • For visual work, you may submit in low res and/or with watermarks, but must be able to supply hi-res unwatermarked versions if we select your work for print. Preferred file types are .jpg, .ai and .eps. Please note that you will need to set up your file for CMYK colour profile.

Our magazine page dimensions are 210x148mm (210x296mm for full spread), but we accept work of any dimensions.

DEADLINE

Submissions close on November 28th 23:59 GMT - there will be NO exceptions (except in rare circumstances)

PROCESS

Please fill in the submissions pitch using the button at the bottom of this page.

We aim to be in touch within two weeks of the submission date to let you know if we are taking your pitch forward, and to request a draft if applicable.

After the closing date, the team will carry out the shortlisting process and notify all submitters of their status within a few weeks. You will then be assigned an editor, who will liaise with you around any amendments.

At this stage we will also ask you to supply a short bio of approx 30 words written in the third person, along with a main social handle or website to accompany. Please note that we reserve the right to ultimately choose not to include any submission, right up to the moment of printing.

When the magazine has been sent to print we will collect your postal address and mail you a copy of the magazine when the print run comes in.
